62 A.A.

It 62 days A.A. (After Abby). Still reverberating around the house, especially the dogs. I realized this when I ran into the 3 Boxer Mama at the beach. I hadn’t seen her in a while and when she asked how I was I told her. Her shoulders immediately sunk. In addition to offering her condolences on Abby she added she lost her leader, Geji kun, over a year ago. And as tearing up and talking about the effect it had on her other two, I realized it’s the same for us, and Lydia & Tilly know it. So I’m trying to make a bigger effort in giving attention and love directly to them, not just in a perfunctory manner.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Recently at 6am while walking Tilly I witnessed an 80 year old man riding a bicycle and fall into a bush. When I ran over there to help I caught a whiff of major boozage from about six feet away. Wish I could be judgmental, but who knows if that isn’t me in a few years.

Finished Pre-season 1960 Strat-o-matic Super Dooper Double Elimination Extravaganza Tournament.

3rd Place- New York Yankees

2nd Place- Chicago White Sox

1st Place- Undefeated Cincinnati Reds (Bob Purkey MVP)

Now I’m into the regular season. Things I can’t get out of my mind. Only eight teams in each league. Now there’s double that. Can you say watered down?

Also, Boston Red Sox players Pumpsie Green and Willie Tasby. First black Red Sox players. In Boston. Before Civil Rights Act. Can’t imagine the crap they had to deal with. My virgin ears are still ringing from my first pro baseball game in 1977 in Minneapolis when drunk racists heaped epithets upon my Royals players such as Frank White and Hal McRae. This was 1977 Minneapolis. 1960 Boston was a few rungs up the ladder I got to believe.
